Sunshine Coast Hinterland
There's another side to the Sunshine Coast and that’s the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. Here, you will find art galleries, country markets, country pubs, good food, stunning views and fascinating towns.
Markets
Visit the famous Eumundi Markets, held on Wednesdays and Saturdays, where you will find organic fruit and vegetables and homemade preserves. Antique shoppers should visit The Old Butter Factory Markets. Make sure you get there early so you don’t miss out on some of the festivities or the great bargains.
Water Activities
Spend a few hours at the Mooloolaba Wharf, wandering through the various shops, or enjoying lunch at one of the many restaurants. Enjoy a Canal Cruise, enjoy a sunset kayak, hire a jet ski or learn to surf. Walk along the Mooloolaba Rock Wall, which takes about 20 minutes. The area is also great for scuba diving, including the HMAS Brisbane.
Fraser Island
Bring your own or hire a 4WD. Enjoy a guided tour of Fraser Island, with its white sandy beaches flanked by strikingly coloured sand cliffs, over 100 freshwater lakes and ancient rainforest.
Underwater World
Underwater World is Queensland’s largest Oceanarium and Aquarium and is just 5 minutes from Windward Apartments. Watch a shark dive from the 80 meter transparent tunnel, watch the sharks feed or be entertained by the seal and otter shows.
Restaurants And Cafes
Feeling peckish? There are a vast array of restaurants and cafes, many within walking distance from your Mooloolaba holiday apartment. Many cater for all types of occasions from a family night out, to a romantic dinner for two looking out over the beach. For recommendations, speak to the friendly onsite managers at reception.
Australia Zoo
Australia’s number one tourist attraction, with over 1,000 animals spread across 70 acres, you can get up close and personal with the wildlife or check out the spectacular Wildlife Warriors show in the world famous Australia Zoo Crocoseum and you will get to see their motto in action – conservation through education. See the tigers play, feed an elephant, watch a crocodile launch itself from the water or cuddle a koala.
Shop Til You Drop
Shop to your heart’s content at specialist boutique shops along the beachfront or at Sunshine Plaza and Kawana Shopping Centre, located just minutes away from Windward Holiday Apartments.
